The crib contains all 10 hits, the seven regular hits and the three historic hits.
The font matches the most popular font used in that period newspapers (although if you look through those papers, you will see various fonts used, sometimes large, sometimes smaller, it was a real mish-mash of font types). But this font is the most common font used. I also increased the stroke of the font, to give it a bit of "dirty" look. But if I can read it with my lousy eyes, so can you.
As far as the background color, I picked a custom background that sits somewhere near most of the various page coloration used in these reproductions. It's kind of funny, but most old newspapers do not have a yellowish-look to them. I guess these folks that printed reproductions thought that all 100 year old newspapers need to look yellowed. But the background of my crib will work fine. It's not always a perfect match (depending on who and where you got your reproduction from), but if you paste it into existing columns in the paper, it really disappears into the rest of the paper.
I have my crib pasted, below the fold, on the left side, of the Boston Globe reproduction (which seems to be one of the more popular reproductions).
